Rochester at Gettysburg

References from the 19th and 21st centuries were combined to create this 3D panorama of the Battle of Gettysburg. The terrain artwork is based on a 19th-century map showing locations of woods, stone and rail fences, fields and farmsteads on the day of the battle. Elevations were created using a modern digital dataset from the U.S. Geological Survey. Superimposed on the map are brief descriptions of each day's action, plus photos and information about the seven University of Rochester alumni who participated.
